To help us celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Carl Rosa, from the Sushi Club of Houston, will be on hand on Saturday, May 25, for a free sushi demonstration! Come join us in the Children's Meeting Room at 12:30 p.m. for this informative and entertaining presentation. All are welcome and no registration is required.
Come make an origami craft, Monday, May 20, at 4 pm in the Children's Activity Room.
Come join us on Thursday, May 23,at 4:00 p.m. for a small reception to celebrate the library's new, expanded hours!! This occasion provides a great opportunity to welcome and thank Harris County Commissioner Jack Cagle, who will be hosting the event, and Rhoda Goldberg, Director of the Harris County Public Library, both instrumental in making these new hours a reality. Congratulations will also be in order for Ms. Goldberg, who will be retiring at the end of May after 37 years of service!
Effective June 1, 2013, Harris County Public Library’s Kingwood Branch will expand its hours of operation from five to six days a week offering you more opportunities to browse the library’s continually refreshed collection of books, movies, music and journals, in addition to making it easier for you to take advantage of a wide range of library services.
Workforce Solutions will be hosting a seminar aimed at teens titled "Landing Your First Job" at the Kingwood Branch Library in the Training Lab. This seminar will take place on both Saturday, May 18th and Saturday, May 25th at 10 a.m. This seminar is free of charge and will focus on applying for jobs, interviewing skills, and resumes.
